Big Nate - From the top by Lincoln Peirce

Big Nate is about a modern boy in America who has the school  record for most detentions of all time!

Big Nate is a naughty ,question authority ,looked down upon kid in sixth grade.This book is full of comic strips in witch Big Nate has to overcome problems such as tests ,girls ,home work and cafetiere food in witch most kids in America relate to.

I enjoyed this book as it made me laugh and it was easy to read. It was a good break from thick chapter books!

The Witches

The witches is by Roald Dahl and is about a boy named Luke and his Grandma. Luke learns quickly how to identify a witch and finds himself in more life-death situations he has ever been in. The holiday to Norway was unfortunetly canceld due to a sickness known as Pneumonia Grandma caught. Luke finds himself in hiding while his surroundings are dangerously terrifying as he is in the grand hall of a posh hotel on the south coast of England currently holding the meeting of the yearly convention of England'd witches! Luke finds all of the witches secrets including the "Formula 86 Delayed-Action Mouse Maker plan" but will he make it out of the conference room  to save the children of England alive?


I relay enjoyed this book. Although Roald Dahl is a Author that is to young for me and it is not a challenging book I relay liked it and it is one of the best books that I have ever red! I like how it is very fast moving and he makes conversations interesting! ( rare in most books) I enjoyed all of Roald Dahls books but this is defiantly his best!

Brian's Return

This novel is the third novell in the Brian series. Brian feels that he dose not belong in a city and he plans to go back in to the woods.Brian is so exited about the journey ahead of him!

I relay liked this novel as it inspired me and it made me miss New Zealand.
Brian used a kyak to go down the river were his destination is waiting.Brian will find his true passion in life and were he belongs....

Charlie and the chocolate factory by Roald Dahl

The main character of this book is Willy Wonka . Mr Wonka owns the largest chocolate factory in the world . After no one had ever worked there for years Mr Wonka feels very sad and realizes he will not be round that much longer and no one will be able to run the chocolate factory . Mr Wonka tells the world that there are five Golden tickets in five ordinary Wonka bars. Any child who wins a  golden ticket will have a toor of his epic factory and have a life times supply of wonka bars and lastly the biggest surprise of them all is for the 1 lucky winner.Soon the world is set alive looking for Wonka bars. The bars was such a big thing that any one who won would become an instant celebrity.  The winners turned out to be Augustus Gloop ( a boy who eats constantly) , Veruca Salt ( a girl who is spoiled ), Violet Beauregarde (a girl who chews gum all day), Mike Teavee (a boy who is addicted to television), and Charlie Bucket win the tickets and visit the factory. Who will win the factory? And is he/she good enough to run it?

I like the book a lot and I liked how it was very funny. Roald Dahl is a very good writer and makes the story come to life......

After Ari's death the flock goes to important meetings that went real bad as the flock left back to Dr. Martinez’s house . Soon after Max uses her sense of direction and amazing instincts to go to Dr.Martinez were she is waiting for them. The flock is sent on a mission to Antarctica to save the world. But they are saving the world from human beings and pollution instead of the bad guys Although they had to escape some random evil guy  who wanted to sell them .
I like the book but I thought that it was boring when the book went on about pollution and stuff . I know that's a bad thing to say but I preferred the flock to be in constant trouble because the story was more exiting and had more action. I think that they should save the world from the bad guys instead of pollution. We see pollution every day . Its boring. When you see a fight or a crash or something with drama it is very interesting!
Although my point of view is frowned upon it is true!
I still like the book and thought it was good but the other books in the Maximum ride series wore better!

Who was Dr Seuss - Janet B. Pascal

This book is about Theodor Geisel . He loved to doodle from when he was a kid. He had a fun and loving personality. He often threw dinner parties where guests wore outrageous hats!This book shows how he got to be a world famous author . From being a German kid in America during the time of Hitler's ruling (Were he got bullied a lot) to going to oxford university ( He drooped out of Oxford due to his lack of seriousness). This book relay inspired me and I learnt  allot about Dr sues. Before he was a writer he was a artist and also a film director who won two Oscars.

Saving the world and other extreme sports by James Patterson Novel reflection

This book is the third book in the Maximum ride novels and the best one yet. Max and her Flock are faced with a challenge to defeat Itex. A massive company that is trying to destroy half  the worlds population to make the world a better place. During the book the flock gets trapped in Itex but escapes with Ari an Ex- Eraser. Fang feels that Ari should not be with them making the Flock split in half. The worlds end is nearing and the only ones who can save it is the Flock. Max following the voice in her head and Fang through his blog. Was it wrong to split? Do they need team work to save the world.........

I liked this book best because it was very exiting and had may unsuspecting  events. I liked that the chapters wee very small!

Brians winter By Gary Paulsen

Brian is stuck in the Canadian bush and has survived through the the whole summer. During this time Brian learns a lot about nature and the animals in it. He now knows the number one rule of the food chain. For one to survive one must die.Now it is getting colder. Brian is faced with his biggest challenge yet. The winter. The time were it snows and living is much harder. Most animals are hibernating meaning harder to catch meat. Through out these pages Brian learns the way of winter, the hard way. This book is the second book in the Brian series by Gary Paulsen. Brian learns to use the winter as an advantage in some ways such as using the ice to freeze later meals. Can Brian survive the winter? He will have to use his knowledge and determination to survive.

I really enjoyed this book. I enjoyed this book so much I almost read it all in one go. I like the descriptions that make the book pop out to life. It feels very real. The book also tort me a lot that I did not know about. It was like a very entertaining survival guide as I learnt how to shoot and make a shelter and fire!

Maximum ride - School's out forever

School's out forever is the second book in the Maximum Ride series. Max and her flock are traveling toward Washington D.C , in search of there parents. While flying they wore attacked by flying Erasers and Fang got seriously injured forcing him and the flock to get help at a near by hospital. Anne, an FBI agent houses the flock and makes them go to school but is the FBI agent as friendly as she seem's...

I really enjoyed this book allot because it was action packed and very fast flowing. I can't wait to read the third book.

Maximum ride - The Angel Experiment ( Novel Refletion )

 

This book is the first book in the Maximum ride series and is set in the near future in the mind of the first person narrator of the story ;Max who is the leader of a "flock" of 98% human and 2% bird Hybrids who are on the run from the mad scientists that created them!
I relay liked this book because I think it relates to the world we live in because we cage up and experiment on animals to. This also makes me think if this is actually possible. It cant be that hard. Can it? Mix some DNA and then create it. I rate this book 5/5 as it had lots of action!
