My final letter to Anh

Dear Anh, I want to tell you about my favourite book of all time .Parvana by Deborah Allis Also known as the Bread winner. It is the First in the bread winner trilogy along with the 2 other books .Parvanas journey and Mud city, I personally believe the first book Parvana is the best! It’s my favourite book because of the scary setting and the historic story line. It is a book based on historic settings .Stories like this has happened and are still happening as we speak. You will truly be amazed by this book as it shows life of people in non western countries who are lest fortunate then us!

Parvana has a lot of conflict in the book because the story is based on a global issue. The people called the Taliban rule Afghanistan .A large group of fierce men with religious believes .The Taliban give out force laws about girls and women. Girls over the age of 12 have to wear a bur cur, a massive black skirt that covers every part of the body including eyes. It is designed to make the women less attractive! Girls and women are not allowed outside without a man. There are not any women’s rights under the Taliban ruling!

The story is set in modern times in a war founded desert country of Afghanistan. Parvana is a story that is similar to the lives of the many girls in Afghanistan. Parvana had a lot of conflict in her life .Parvana who once was rich but now is poor as the bombings have her and her family move to a smaller houses every time and they have No food! Dad is injured from getting beaten from the Taliban and Dad is the only person in the house who is allowed outside by himself .There is a rule were you are not allowed outside if you are a girl without a male as there are mean people called the Taliban with strict religious believes .Father is always the breadwinner of the house as her mother and her sisters are all girls .Parvana has to pretend to be a boy to sell the belongings the family have and to by food for her Family!

There are lots of good characters in this book and you will love them and the author Other describes the characters in a way that makes the characters so realistic you could almost touch them. Important characters are her father, who sells things in the market; her mother, who works hard to look after the family; Nooria, Parana’s older sister, who is a snob and often makes Parvana mad; and Maryam and Ali, Parvana's younger sister and brother.

I am looking forward to you reading this book and enjoying it as much as I did. It has a good plot, a lot of conflict and is based on stories that still happen today. You will love this book because the characters are great, there is good conflict in the story and the story is based on a global issue. This book will remind you that we are very lucky to be born in the family we are in. I hope this book will warm your heart as it did mine. You will love this book!
